Painting #1 “Light in the Woods” 14.5 x 21 inches
This painting was cropped off for some reason but you get the general idea. This was inspired by a section of woods near a trail that I often hike. I decided to allow my intuition to guide me which it ended up being abstracted. The photo doesn’t do this justice at all, there is a glow that really conveys my overall feeling of what the area makes me feel.

Painting #2 untitled 11 x 14 inches
Nothing spectacular with this painting, more of a quick sketch.

Painting #3 “Mendocino Skies 3 11 x 14 inches
I keep returning to painting scenes from my trip to Mendocino county.

Painting #4 imaginescape 11 x 14 inches
Perhaps a little garish but I wanted to go wild.

Painting #5 Mendocino Skies 2
I truly love painting these because it was such a fantastic trip filled with rain, stormy skies and rain drenched coastal redwoods.
As the title suggests, I will be taking a break from posting in the month of July. I need to focus on my art and being creative and hoping to stretch my approach and view. I have a tendency to be tough on myself which I feel can be productive but when my perfectionism dominates and I get depressed, not good. I will be working on this, exploring why and what I can do to steer myself to a better and healthier process. Until next month, enjoy!
